Sept. 17: The defending Class 2A champion Tornadoes look to tame the undefeated Huskies.

The Northwest Suburban Conference has three teams ranked in the Class 2A state coaches' poll, proving the league is one of the most competitive in Minnesota.

Two-time defending Class 2A state champion Anoka fell out of the Top 10 rankings following a 3-2 loss to Blaine, which is making its first appearance in the poll after landing at No. 8, and Park Center is No. 9. Andover has been the surprise of the bunch, moving up from being unranked in the preseason poll to No. 5 this week.

The Tornadoes have a chance to reclaim their spot when they face the defending league champion Huskies on Saturday.

Andover was shutout in last year's 1-0 loss to Anoka and puts its unbeaten record on the line at home.

Five miles separate these schools, and with many students straddling the border between the towns, Saturday’s matinee should draw ample attention in the community and around the state as our Top Game of the Week.
