Minneapolis Southwest had pulled into the No. 10 spot in the Class 2A coaches’ poll last week, but was knocked out of this week's rankings after a going winless in its last two games.

The Lakers could also face a tough task in holding its place atop the Minneapolis City Conference standings as they take on a Minneapolis South team possibly looking for retribution.

Minneapolis Southwest won the first meeting this season with the Tigers on Sept. 12 behind first-half goals from first team all-state attacker Callen Knutson and Isaiah Clausen that sealed a 2-1 victory.

The Lakers also won last year’s league title while Minneapolis South finished third, and this intracity battle between two of the top teams in the Minneapolis City Conference is our Top Game of the Week.
