Maple Grove has become a regular fixture in the Class 2A state tournament, with the Crimson making three consecutive tourneys.

After dropping the state championship match to Eagan in 2017, the Crimson lost 2-1 to Minnetonka in a quarterfinal matchup in 2018. This year, however, they put it all together behind the performance of four all-tournament honorees and defeated Centennial 2-1 to clinch the coveted hardware.

Midfielders Luca Ralph, Emma Fournier and Hannah Zahn join goalie Sarah Cortez as Maple Grove players who received an all-tournament selection. Ralph and Fournier each had an assist in the state championship while Cortez spearheaded a defensive effort that led to the Crimson surrendering just goal the entire tournament.

Centennial had three all-tournament selections in forwards Khyah Harper and Olivia Lovick, who join teammate Sydney Kubes, a defender.

The 2019 all-tournament teams, presented by Wells Fargo and the Minnesota State High School League, were selected by a panel of coaches who attended the tourney.
