We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

White Bear Lake vs. Stillwater, 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2: A win over the Bears (8-4, 4-2) would almost solidify the No. 4-2A Ponies' (11-1-3, 5-1-1) Suburban East Conference title pursuits. Both teams are also looking for the highest possible seed in the Section 4 tournament.

Blake vs. Wayzata, 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4: A nonconference and non-section matchup of teams with good pedigree in separate classes. The Trojans (11-2, 5-2) are the No. 3-ranked team in Class 2A and the Bears (9-3, 6-0) are ranked fourth in Class 1A.
