Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Soccer Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.

Fans Choice for Top Performer

Brenda Vargas, Cristo Rey Jesuit. Vargas, in a pair of Puma wins last week, recorded six goals and six assists to help Cristo Rey Jesuit improve to 9-2 on the season. She scored two goals and tallied three assists in a 9-0 win over North Lakes Academy on Sept. 17, then added four goals and three assists in a 7-1 win over International School on Sept. 21.

Top performer candidates

Olivia Gardner, Winona Cotter. Gardner has 17 goals through the Ramblers' first nine games, and the freshman's scoring prowess was again on display last week. Gardner scored a goal in the team’s 5-1 loss to Rochester Lourdes on Sept. 17 before tallying three goals in each of the team’s wins over Caledonia (7-0 on Sept. 18) and Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa (8-0 on Sept. 21).

Ava Braun, Andover. Andover's stingy defense has led it to an 8-1-2 record and No. 5 ranking by the Class 2A coaches — and Braun, a sophomore goalkeeper, has been a reliable backstop. In shutouts over Totino-Grace (3-0 on Sept. 17) and Spring Lake Park (3-0 on Sept. 22), Braun stopped five shots apiece. She sits at 59 saves on the season with a .908 save percentage.

Kora Jordheim, East Grand Forks. Jordheim had a monster week for the Green Wave, as she totaled 11 points in three games and helped her team improve to 7-2-1 on the season. Her four goals and an assist in a 6-1 win over Grand Rapids on Sept. 22 highlighted the week. She also recorded five helpers in a 12-0 victory over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Sept. 18.

Khyah Harper, Centennial. Centennial is in contention for the Northwest Suburban Conference title, and Harper has played a big role in that effort. The sophomore forward put together a stellar week — scoring two goals and tallying an assist in the Cougars’ 4-0 win over Spring Lake Park on Sept. 17 before adding a pair of goals and two assists in an 11-0 win over Coon Rapids on Sept. 22.

*Stats and records as of Sept. 24.
