First Report

Centennial rode a pair of late first-half goals and a devoted defensive effort in the second half to roll past Andover 2-1 Thursday in a Northwest Suburban Conference showdown.

Junior forward Olivia Lovick netted both scores for Centennial, ranked No. 8 in the Class 2A state coaches' poll. Lovick scored the first goal with 47 seconds remaining before halftime, and the second with just five ticks left on the clock.

Centennial (4-1-0, 3-1-0) senior goalkeeper Brianna Levine kept a lid on a scrappy Andover (3-1-2, 1-1-2) squad that wouldn’t go away. Levine finished with seven saves.

No. 7-2A Andover's senior attacker, Jennifer Bobaric, scored a long-range shot with 7:10 remaining. Sophomore keeper Ava Braun made six saves for the Huskies.
