We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Southwest Christian vs. St. Croix Lutheran, 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3. Southwest Christian (8-1-2) fell 3-1 to Holy Family when the Stars were ranked No. 2 in Class 1A, but the team is looking for a bounce back win against a top 10 opponent on the road. St. Croix Lutheran’s (9-2) eight-game winning streak was snapped against Bloomington Kennedy on Sept. 24, but outscored opponents 40-1 during that streak.

St. Paul Academy vs. Providence Academy, 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1. St. Paul Academy (4-2-3) will look to lean on its defense in this matchup, allowing no more than one goal in six games this season. Providence Academy (8-3), however, has a high-powered offense behind the state’s second-leading goal scorer in Maddyn Greenway (28 goals, four assists).
