Oliver's third goal was the best of the bunch. She flashed fancy footwork to dribble past the keeper and score in front of an open net.

“We’ve got a lot of threats when it comes to the offense,” Rosemount coach Gretchen Stramel said. “Jess worked really hard. She had a scrappy goal, she had a pretty goal. She put herself in the right places.”

Oliver climbed into the team goals lead with 15, usurping Heimerl's 14. Heimerl got involved by adding two assists to reach a team best 20 on the season.

Rylin Rintoul added two assists and Ava Grate scored her 14th goal of the season.

The Irish built a 3-0 lead at halftime and held the Elks without a shot on goal until the 37th minute.

The Irish blanked their 12th straight opponent and 18th of the season.

“Our three captains in the back line Joey Edgar, Nora Garrett and Ashley Herold, they are brick walls back there. Nobody gets through them,” Oliver said. “Then Grace (Bartlam) is on the outside. When I’m up top, seeing them get the ball it’s a sigh of relief. Jordan (Hecht), our goalie, is always the best. I love our defense, they put it all out there every game.”

The Irish will meet No. 2 seed Centennial next week at U.S. Bank Stadium in a rematch of the 2019 state semifinal won 2-1 by Centennial.

“The girls have had this goal all season to make it back to the Bank,” Stramel said. “A lot of them played there as freshmen and sophomores. They know what it feels like to be in that environment. It’s been a goal the whole year. Building the motivation and the drive to do it, they’ve worked really hard toward it. Tonight was just kind of capitalizing on everything they’ve worked toward and succeeding.”
