See who fans voted as the top performer from Oct. 10-16

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Soccer Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.

Top performer winner

Isaac Verke, Centennial. Verke was only summoned to make one save in a 3-0 win Oct. 12 vs. Forest Lake in the Section 7, Class 3A quarterfinals. His production ramped up in a big way in the semifinals. Verke made 10 saves to blank Coon Rapids, 1-0, on Oct. 14. The senior has three shutouts in a row and 10 in 2021.

Top performer candidates

Jon Brain, Southwest Christian. The senior forward is off to a breakneck scoring pace to begin the Section 6, Class 1A playoffs. Brain put in a personal best five goals in a 12-0 quarterfinal win Oct. 14 vs. Eagle Ridge Academy/International School of Minnesota. He and teammate Nickolas Azanov each scored twice in the No. 1 seed Stars’ 4-3 semifinal win Oct. 16 vs. Breck.

Alex Bowman, Rogers. The senior forward/midfielder made sure his Royals advanced to the Section 8, Class 3A semifinals with ease. Bowman had a hand in all but one goal in a 7-1 win over Bemidji with four goals and two assists. He’s up to 22 goals and four assists on the season, the former good for a tie for 10th place among state leaders, based on stats submitted to MN Soccer Hub.

Loic Mesanvi, Lakeville South. Lakeville South is one of two teams left in its class without a loss. A big reason for the Cougars rise to No. 2 in the final Class 3A coaches’ poll is Mesanvi. The senior midfielder has 24 of the team’s 44 goals and is second with seven assists. Mesanvi has scored in all but two games in 2021 and is tied for seventh in the state goals leaders, based on stats submitted to MN Soccer Hub. He came through for two goals in an assist in both Section 1, 3A playoff games. One was a 4-0 win Oct. 12 vs. Farmington and 3-2 win Oct. 14 vs. Lakeville North.

Thiago Jaime, Hill-Murray. The Pioneers cruised to the Section 4, Class 2A title game. The senior forward has been a big part of it. Jaime scored twice and added an assist in a 4-1 win vs. St. Paul Harding in the quarterfinals. He scored two more for Hill-Murray, No. 3 in the final Class 2A coaches poll, in a 6-0 win Oct. 16 vs. St. Paul Como Park. Jaime’s 17 goals on the season crack the top 20 in the state, based on stats submitted to MN Soccer Hub.
