Sophomore Audrey Garton's fourth goal of the postseason was enough to lift Holy Angels to its fourth consecutive section championship on Tuesday at Two Rivers High School.

Garton took a pass from Ella Crow a step ahead of Visitation defender Kazimiera Hankee and tipped a shot past a diving goaltender four-and-a-half minutes into the second half to lift the Stars to a 1-0 victory in the Class 2A, Section 3 final. It was the fourth consecutive year in which the Stars beat Visitation in the section championship and the seventh consecutive season in which the Stars eliminated the the Blazers in the section playoffs.

Garton now has 24 goals for the Stars (17-0-1), ranked second in the final regular-season Class 2A coaches poll. Visitation ended its season with an 11-7-1 record.

Defense has been the Stars' calling card all season and especially in the playoffs, where Holy Angels has outscored opponents 7-0 in three games. The Stars, who last surrendered a goal in a 4-2 victory over Minneapolis Washburn on Sept. 25, have 14 shutouts this season and have surrendered just eight goals all season.

But it was Visitation's defense that was on display in the section championship. The Blazers held Holy Angels scoreless and hounded the Stars' forwards relentlessly. The few solid chances the Stars had were rendered moot by goalie Kate Norman, who made a number of solid plays.
