Top performer winner

Dylan Moua, Hmong Academy. A pair of hat tricks last week lifted Moua into second place among the state goals leaders with 19. The senior scored every goal in the Warriors' 3-2 win Sept. 21 vs. Avail Academy. Moua added three more goals in a 7-1 win Sept. 23 at Lakes International Language Academy. He owns five multi-goal games in 2021.

Top performer candidates

Chris Frantz, Maple Grove. Frantz is up to 20 goals on the season, second best in the state and tops among Class 3A players, based on stats submitted to MN Soccer Hub. He tallied half of them last week. The junior forward scored once in a 4-1 Sept. 20 win vs. Osseo and scored three times each in a 7-1 Sept. 21 win at Anoka, a 7-1 Sept. 23 win vs. Robbinsdale Armstrong and an 8-1 Sept. 25 win at St. Michael-Albertville. Frantz added four assists on the week for the Crimson who remain unbeaten and were No. 1 in the Sept. 26 Class 3A coaches’ poll.

Brody Cook, Orono. The senior forward has 17 assists and is the state’s leader by three, based on stats submitted to MN Soccer Hub. Cook added to his total in a pair of wins for the Spartans last week. He dished out two assists and scored the other goal in a 3-1 Sept. 20 win vs. Chanhassen. Orono, ranked No. 2 in the Sept. 26 Class 2A coaches’ poll, stayed unbeaten in a 2-1 Sept. 23 win at Waconia where Cook recorded an assist. He has at least one assist in all nine games and multiple assists in five.

Sebastian CentenoPelican Rapids. Centeno is at the quarter-century mark combining goals and assists on the season, leading the Vikings in both categories with 14 and 11, respectively. The senior midfielder is tied for eighth in the state in goals and tied for fifth in assists, based on stats submitted to MN Soccer Hub. Centeno recorded a hat trick and two assists in a 7-0 win Sept. 21 vs. Hillcrest Lutheran. He added an assist in a 3-2 Sept. 23 loss to St. Cloud Cathedral, the No. 7 ranked squad in the Sept. 19 Class 1A coaches’ poll. Centeno capped his week with three goals and two assists in a 6-0 Sept. 25 win vs. Fergus Falls.

Drew Moseman, St. Paul Central. The Mintuemen came in at No. 10 in the Sept. 26 Class 3A coaches' poll. They got there in part due to a stingy defense backed by junior goalkeeper Drew Moseman. He saved all three shots on net in a 1-0 win Sept. 23 vs. St. Paul Como Park. Moseman picked up his fifth shutout of the season in a 5-0 win Sept. 25 at Eastview. He allowed one lone goal the three times he did not earn a shutout.
