Girls' top games: Going gets tough for mostly dominant Fairmont when heading to Holy Family Catholic

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Hill-Murray vs. Mahtomedi, 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29. Hill-Murray (6-0-2), ranked No. 3 in Class 2A and its top scorer Ella Runyon travel to face three-time defending state champion No. 4-2A Mahtomedi (7-2-0).

Centennial vs. Stillwater, 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2. Centennial (10-0-0), ranked No. 2 in Class 3A and one of the state’s four unbeaten and untied teams, faces one of its toughest challenges of the season in No. 6-3A Stillwater (9-2-0).
