See who fans voted as the top performer from Sept. 12-Sept. 18.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Soccer Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.

Top performer winner

Rodrigo Castaneda, Richfield. Richfield is loaded with talented players and Castaneda currently leads the team in goals with 10 on the season. Last week, the senior had multi-goal performances in two of the Spartans’ three victories. Castaneda started the week with four goals in a 9-0 win over Brooklyn Center on Sept. 13. The forward finished his week with two goals in the Spartans’ 10-1 victory against Columbia Heights on Sept. 18.

Top performer candidates

Andy DeWitt, Orono. DeWitt’s six points helped lead the Spartans to a pair of wins last week. The senior scored once in a 4-0 victory over St. Cloud Cathedral on Sept. 13. DeWitt saved his best performance of the week for the next evening when he tallied four goals and an assist in the Spartans’ 6-0 win over Robbinsdale Cooper. The midfielder currently leads the Class 2A No. 2 ranked Orono boys’ team in goals with nine.

Carter Hermanson, Academy of Holy Angels. The Academy of Holy Angels went 2-0-1 last week, but Hermanson’s play in a single match was enough to make the Top Performers list. The senior forward netted two goals and added four assists for the Stars in the team’s 7-0 victory over Columbia Heights on Sept. 13. Hermanson leads the Stars, ranked No. 5 in the Sept. 19 Class 2A coaches' poll, in goals and assists.

Abner Philipos, Burnsville. The Burnsville boys’ soccer team was busy last week, playing four matches in six days. Philipos figured in the scoring in three of those matches, racking up five goals and an assist. The forward scored a hat trick in a 7-0 victory over Lincoln International on Sept. 13, added a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win against Farmington on Sept. 14 and tallied the lone goal in the Blaze’s 5-1 loss at Apple Valley.

Adam Tebbs, Southwest Christian.  Tebbs notched three consecutive shutouts as the Stars went 2-0-1 last week. The senior goalkeeper recorded six saves in a 1-0 victory at Mound Westonka on Sept. 13. He made four saves in a 2-0 win over Watertown-Mayer, but saved his best performance for the Stars’ last match of the week. Tebbs’ 13 saves against Providence Academy secured a 0-0 outcome on Sept. 18 and allowed the Stars to stay undefeated for the week.
