Girls' soccer All-Metro first, second teams

Sophie Babo, Orono, fr.: The school's all-time leading scorer already as a freshman is a Division I prospect right now. Babo scored 31 goals, including three four-goal games, and had 17 assists in 2011.

FORWARDS

Alyssa Blahnik, Burnsville, so.: Tough to defend because of her speed, strength and technical skills. She has 30 goals this season, with 10 games of at least two goals.

Alexis Foley, White Bear Lake, sr.: Foley brought a physical presence to the Bears. She had 17 goals and 10 assists, leading White Bear Lake in scoring. Foley started the season with 11 goals in the first seven games.

Katie Holder, Stillwater, sr.: Holder exploded for five goals against Forest Lake. She finished with 12 goals on a squad that only scored 35.

Simone Kolander, Lakeville North, jr.: Kolander is the one player who will make the opposition change the way they play. The Gophers recruit has scored 21 goals and added 27 assists.

Jill Richgels, Simley, sr.: Don't be fooled by Richgels' size (5-2). The Creighton recruit scored 22 goals and dished out 10 assists in her final season.

Jenna Roering, Centennial, jr.: Everybody knows about Roering's ability to score, and she still can't be stopped. She enters the state tournament with 32 goals and 10 assists. Roering has committed to Santa Clara.

MIDFIELDERS

Brianna Stelzer, Lakeville South, sr.: Stelzer controls the game and has excellent vision of the field. The Wisconsin recruit scored 15 goals and had five assists.

Hannah Werth, Bloomington Jefferson, sr.: The dead ball specialist has been a five-year starter for the Jaguars. She had six goals for a team that had difficulty scoring.

DEFENDER

Madeline Trebesch, Woodbury, sr.: The leader of a defensive unit that only allowed 11 goals this season heading into the state tournament. She also provides a little offense, with four goals and three assists.

GOALKEEPER

Kristen Knutson, Eagan, sr.: The Gophers recruit was a four-year starter for the Wildcats. A leader on and off the field, Knutson only yielded eight goals this season.
