Stillwater vs. Cretin-Derham Hall

5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6

Stillwater remains the top dog in the Suburban East Conference. But with a recent stub of the toe and an upstart program looking to shake things up, the Ponies have an important game on Oct. 6 against Cretin-Derham Hall.

The Ponies, ranked No. 1 in the latest Class 3A coaches' poll, had been perfect up until Sept. 29 when they lost 1-0 to East Ridge. That opened the door for the Raiders to jump in.

If there's one thing Stillwater (13-1, 6-1) can lean on heading into this crucial week, it's solid play in net. The keeper trio of Breyden Hayes, Landon Huber and Derek Dopkins have combined for a .540 goals against average and .825 save percentage.

No. 7-3A Cretin-Derham Hall is looking for its first win against Stillwater in more than a decade and a shot at a conference crown.

While Stillwater has been stingy, the Raiders (12-2, 6-1) have shown they can score with the best of them, averaging three goals per game. One of the catalysts for that is junior Luke Madden. He enters this week with seven goals and two assists.
