Worthington vs. Holy Angels

7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1

Looking at the top five in the Sept. 21 Class 2A coaches' poll, it's filled with some of the metro's best such as Orono and Hill-Murray. However, there's an outlier in Worthington. This outstate contender will look to continue to shake things up against Holy Angels on Saturday.

The No. 4-2A Trojans (11-0, 7-0) have only allowed three goals this season while averaging nearly five goals per game. They combined for 22 goals in their past two games.

One of the players leading that charge is junior forward Jonathan Banegas. He scored two goals and tallied an assist in his team's win against Mankato Loyola.

While the Spartans have an undefeated record and high ranking, No. 6-2A Holy Angels (4-4-1, 2-0-1) is not an opponent to take lightly. The defending Class 2A runner-up is not quite where it normally is but still has plenty of talent to work with.

The Stars are looking to break a four game losing streak after winning four of their first five. Freshman James Parish has been the player to step up for Holy Angels. His goal against Richfield gave the Stars a key conference win.
