Holy Family Catholic vs. Providence Academy

3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24

Holy Family Catholic and Providence Academy may not play in the same conference, but they surely aren't strangers to each other and will face in what could be a potential section tournament matchup.

The No. 4-1A Fire lost to the Lions in the Class 1A, Section 6 semifinal at home last year. Providence Academy went on to lose the section final to eventual Class 1A state champion Southwest Christian.

Holy Family (5-1-1, 3-0) looks as strong as ever despite a tough schedule. The Fire's lone loss came to No. 5-3A Edina and the draw came against No. 5-2A Benilde-St. Margaret's.

The offense has been on a roll as of late for Holy Family. The Fire have scored at least three goals in their past four games. Andrew Silverman has been a crucial part of the offense all season with a pair of two-goal games this season.

The No. 3-1A Lions are looking to bounce back after a rough patch of sorts in recent days. Providence Academy is in the midst of a 1-2-1 stretch with losses to Minnehaha Academy and Blake. The Lions also tied with St. Paul Academy and picked up a win against Heritage Christian.

Ronan Donahue, a junior midfielder/forward, got the season off to a big start and has nine goals and six assists so far this season. However, he has been held to just one goal in his past two games.
