Hope Academy vs. St. John's Prep

5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23

The Minnesota State High School League lists Elizabeth Woerle of Meadow Creek Christian in Andover as the single-season record holder for goals with 60 in 2004. Here comes Hope Academy’s fabulous freshman Liza Timm.

Timm has scored a state-best 33 goals in nine games this season for Minneapolis-based Hope Academy (7-2-0, 3-0-0), which has seven games left on its regular season schedule. The next highest goal scorer in the state, Mikayla Houdek of Little Falls, has 19.

St. John’s Prep (4-2-1, 1-2-1) relies on balanced scoring and the solid goalkeeping of freshman Natalie Kayser.
