Moorhead vs. Brainerd

7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25

Brainerd (6-0-1, 6-0-1) has allowed just two goals this season, while new Central Lakes Conference foe Moorhead (6-0-0, 6-0-0) has scored 27, an average of 4.5 per game. How does the old saying go — something about an immovable object versus an unstoppable force?

While the Central Lakes hasn’t produced a parade of state champions (St. Cloud Apollo did win a Class 1A crown in 2014), Friday's winner would undoubtedly be a formidable foe for any big-school opponent.

Co-captain Brandon Neifert has handled the bulk of the Warriors' goalkeeping duties this season and, should he get the start against the Spuds, will face the likes of senior sharpshooter Yousif Al Shihmani (7 goals, 1 assist) and Jibriel Gedo (6 goals, 2 assists).
