Rosemount vs.

Lakeville North

5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15

Lakeville North has been a South Suburban Conference powerhouse since, seemingly, forever. The Panthers have won three league titles and finished no worse than fifth in the 10-team league in the last nine years. Rosemount’s rise to prominence, meanwhile, has been more recent as the Irish went unbeaten in conference play in 2018 and suffered just one league loss last season.

This season both teams aren’t just ranked in the top 10 in Class 2A (Rosemount is No. 3; Lakeville North No. 7), they are also both unbeaten and have yet to be scored on.

Senior Kenzie Jacobson leads the Irish (5-0-0, 5-0-0), who made the state semifinals last season, with nine goals after scoring a team-best 17 in the regular season a year ago. Seniors Annie Waters and Elinor Sayers both have been outstanding in goal for the Panthers (5-0-0, 5-0-0), who are coming off a 2-0 defeat of Farmington on Sept. 10.
