Eden Prairie vs. Minnetonka

5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8

Minnetonka scoring sensation Dylan Olson erupted for a combined 10 goals in lopsided victories over Buffalo (7-0 on Aug. 27) and Hopkins (10-0 on Aug. 29). That’s not a bad encore to a junior season in which Olson scored a team-leading 18 goals in 17 games and puts him atop the state scoring charts.

The No. 3-2A Skippers (2-1, 2-1) have also been playing sound defense, allowing three goals total in their first three games — all of which came in a 3-0 defeat to No. 1-2A Wayzata on Sept. 3.

Eden Prairie (2-1, 2-1) beat Minneapolis Washburn 2-1 on Aug. 27 to open the season, lost 3-1 to No. 6-2A Edina on Sept. 1, then rebounded two days later with a 3-2 triumph over St. Michael-Albertville.

The Eagles lost nine seniors from last season but return top players such as senior goalkeeper Carson Bell, and junior scoring threats Jose Blanco and Cole Nelson.
