Lakeville North

vs. Rosemount

7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19

That 4-0 season-opening loss to Stillwater on Aug. 22 is looking more and more like an aberration for No. 7-2A Rosemount, as the Irish (9-1-0, 3-0-0) have reeled off nine straight victories since. Included in that stretch are triumphs over No. 6-2A Andover (3-1 on Aug. 24) and No. 4-2A Eagan (1-0 on Sept. 10).

Rosemount’s Kenzie Jacobson, a junior who ranks among the state leaders with 12 goals, has at least one goal in six of the Irish’s 10 games.

Stopping Jacobson will no doubt be a priority for No. 9-2A Lakeville North, which relied on the sparkling play of goalkeeper Annie Waters to shut out its first six opponents before the Panthers (6-2-0, 2-1-0) lost back-to-back games to Lakeville South (2-1 on Sept. 12) and Minneapolis Washburn (2-1 on Sept. 14) last week.
