Centennial is off to a quick start, having defeated No. 10-2A White Bear Lake 3-1 in the Aug. 22 season opener.
Khyah Harper, a junior attacker who was an all-state selection last year, scored for the No. 9-2A Cougars in that win. Centennial (1-0, 0-0) lost just three starters from last season’s 14-4-0 team that stumbled 3-2 in the Class 2A, Section 5 title game to Maple Grove.
Andover features senior midfielder Kelsey Kallio, a 20-goal scorer who was a Star Tribune All-Metro first team selection last year. Kallio already has two assists for the No. 5-2A Huskies (1-1, 0-0) after a 2-1 win over Duluth East on Aug. 23.
