Hill-Murray vs. East Ridge

7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29

Here’s another intriguing small versus big school matchup on the metro’s east side.

Both Hill-Murray and East Ridge could use a confidence boost. No. 3-1A Hill-Murray (1-1, 0-0) has split it first two games, losing 2-1 to Prior Lake before beating St. Paul Central 4-0, while No. 7-2A East Ridge (0-1, 0-0) opened with a 3-0 loss to No. 6-2A Eagan.

Hill-Murray returns one of the metro’s best midfielders in senior Katherine Schindler. Pioneers senior attacker Claire Cater was also an all-state pick last season.

When these clubs met last year, the Raptors had the upper hand in a 2-0 win. Then-junior midfielder Madison Majewski scored one of East Ridge's two goals and could look to strike again.
