Bemidji vs. Moorhead

7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13

Bemidji has scored at least four goals in all but one game this year (a 4-2 loss at No. 4-2A Duluth East on Sept. 6), and the Lumberjacks -- who have 27 goals entering this week -- could be in for another low-scoring contest in this matchup at Moorhead.

Three juniors lead Bemidji (5-1, 3-0) in scoring, with Silas Hess (7 G) also acting as the Lumberjacks' top setup man (5 A) while Ethan Mock and Aidan Helwig have scored six and five goals, respectively. The trio will likely have to be at their best if Bemidji is going to break down a stout Spuds' defense and avoid a second consecutive loss this season.

Moorhead (4-2) has recorded five shutouts in the regular season and has not allowed more than two goals in contest this season. Goalkeeper Caden Triggs is the anchor of the Spuds' resolute defensive unit, but they have not yet faced an attack as potent as Bemidji's. If Moorhead's defense can frustrate one of the state's highest-flying offenses and nick a goal on the other end, the Spuds will have a chance to knock off a northern Minnesota juggernaut and build up their resume for postseason seeding.
