Maple Grove grabbed the No. 1 seed in Section 5.
The No. 3-ranked Crimson finished the regular season with a 14-2 record behind the play of senior midfielder Meredith Haakenson. She was the 2016 Gatorade State Player of the Year and led the Crimson with 12 goals during the regular season.
Maple Grove will likely face tough competition during its playoff push as Section 5 includes second-seeded Centennial (11-2-2). The Cougars are the defending Class 2A champions and defeated the Crimson in last year's section final.
Champlin Park (9-5-1) is the No. 3 seed and Spring Lake Park (5-10-1) is No. 4.
