After losing just one game in the regular season, Edina was selected as Section 2's top seed.
The Hornets finished the regular season with a 10-1-5 record and were co-champions of the Lake Conference, finishing tied with Wayzata atop the league standings.
Edina's success can be attributed to its balanced scoring. Twelve different players scored for the Hornets during the regular season while the team picking up wins against five different section opponents.
Minnetonka (7-4-4), which received votes in the final Class 2A coaches' poll and is the defending section champion, is the No. 2 seed, while Chanhassen (9-4) and Eden Prairie (4-8-2) round out the remaining top seeds.
