Edina was given the No. 1 seed in Section 2.
The No. 6-2A Hornets are one of two teams in this section to be ranked in the Class 2A coaches’ poll. Second-seeded Prior Lake is No. 10 in the season's final rankings.
Edina (11-2-3) is looking to return to the state tournament after taking third in a year ago. Five of Edina’s wins this season have come against section opponents, including a 1-0 victory over the Lakers (11-4-1).
While the Hornets have had success against their section rivals this season, Edina is sure to face plenty of tough competition. Minnetonka (10-5-1), which is seeded third, handed Edina one of its two losses earlier this season.
Eden Prairie (10-5-1) is the No. 4 seed.
