Orono heads into the postseason as the No. 1 seed in Section 6.
The Spartans are sixth in the Class 1A coaches’ poll and went 11-3-2 in the regular season. One of Orono’s 11 wins this season came against second-seeded Mound Westonka (10-1-3) -- a 3-2 victory that was the White Hawks' only loss.
Willmar (13-2-1), the defending section champions, is the No. 3 seed. The Cardinals bowed out of last year's state tournament in the quarterfinals.
Monticello (11-3-1) received the No. 4 seed.
