Mahtomedi earned the No. 1 seed in Section 4.
The Zephyrs are ranked eighth in the Class 1A coaches’ poll. Junior midfielder Helio De La Torres leads the Mahtomedi offense with 15 goals.
Mahtomedi (11-3-2) could meet No. 4-seeded St. Paul Como Park in the section semifinals. The Cougars (5-7-4) won the section a season ago and took home the state championship in 2013. In their lone meeting this season, the two teams tied 2-2.
The No. 2 seed is St. Croix Prep (13-2-1) and No. 3 is St. Paul Harding (7-6-3).
