Worthington received the top seed in Section 2.

The Trojans, who are seventh in the Class 1A rankings, went 15-0-1 during the regular season. Their lone blemish was a 3-3 draw against No. 4-1A Austin. 

There will be a new face emerging out of Section 2 following No. 11-seed Mankato West’s 3-0 loss to No. 6 seed Faribault (6-5-5) in subsection play on Oct. 9. The Scarlets (2-12-1) had made six consecutive state tournaments. 

Northfield (9-5-1), which is the second seed in the section, comes into this postseason looking for a return trip to the state tournament. The Raiders were the Class 1A runners-up last year.

Mankato East (9-7) is the No. 3 seed and Marshall (9-4-2) is No. 4.
