Totino-Grace at Blake
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22

There’s another No. 2 versus No. 3 matchup this week, and this time it comes in Class 1A. It’s also another clash between unbeaten teams, but only one has a perfect record.

Totino-Grace has been climbing the Class 1A rankings all season, and it now sits at No. 2 after jumping ahead of No. 3 Blake. The Eagles will most likely move to No. 1 for the first time this season, with Orono’s loss to Monticello on Saturday.

Totino-Grace has won all seven of its games this season by a combined score of 26-3, while recording three shutouts. It's been been led by Herbert Endeley, who has nine goals and seven assists.

The Eagles were upset by Columbia Heights in the quarterfinals of last year's Class A, Section 5 tournament. They would have faced Blake with a victory.

Blake has not been perfect this season, but it has still had a tremendous year up to this point, dropping only four points in eight games. That’s good enough for the Bears (6-0-2, 3-0-1) to lead the Independent Metro Athletic Conference by one point over St. Paul Academy. The team has benefitted from consistent play from Haluk Ercan-Fang, who's scored three goals and assisted on four.
