Lakeville North vs. Farmington
10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8

Lakeville North is in familiar territory for its final run-in of the regular season; the Panthers are in position to wrap up a second consecutive South Suburban Conference title and carry that momentum into the postseason as they look to make a fourth straight trip to the Class 2A state tournament.

Lakeville North faces Apple Valley and Burnsville before meeting Farmington in the regular-season finale, and victories over all three would seal the league championship. The fact the Panthers have a chance at another conference title speaks to the strength of the program, which has remained a contender despite graduating a number of key contributors from last year's team.

Olivia Bruce has stepped up to lead the Panthers (7-3-2, 4-1-1) with nine goals while Lauren Witte has facilitated well with eight assists. She and Alyssa Krause each have six goals.

Shannon McNight has made the Tigers (4-5-3, 1-3-2) a dangerous team with her 10 goals this season. Farmington's sub-.500 record belies the talent of the team; the Tigers just haven’t won many close games, as all five losses have come by one goal.
