Stillwater vs. East Ridge
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8

Stillwater has yet to allow a goal this season, helping the Ponies stay undefeated through five games. The streak may not have impressed area coaches, as Stillwater is unranked in the polls. But that could change this week as the Ponies have matchups against No. 5-1A Mahtomedi on Tuesday and No. 6-2A East Ridge two days later.

Goalkeeper Evie Kohn is 5-0 with 28 saves in five games, but playing stingy defense is only one component to Stillwater's success. The Ponies (5-0) have scored three or more goals in each contest and boast an offense that has seen Julia Bernard and Kallie Clements tally seven goals already.

East Ridge certainly knows what kind of team it faces heading into this Suburban East Conference matchup, especially after Stillwater ended the Raptors' season in last year's Class 2A, Section 4 semifinals.

Confidence could be high for East Ridge (4-0), which also not allowed a goal yet this season. The No. 6-2A Raptors knocked off No. 3-2A Lakeville North 2-0 and followed that with a 1-0 victory over No. 4-1A Mahtomedi.
