Minnetonka at Hopkins
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6

With its top three scorers back this season, including first team all-state selection Ashley Akin, Hopkins has put itself in the conversation about Lake Conference champion contenders. The Royals can strengthen their case with a victory against No. 7-2A Minnetonka, a team that swept them in last year’s season series.

Chance Douglass leads Hopkins with three goals while Akin has two. Lavin Douglass has two goals and an assist for the Royals.

The Skippers (1-1-2) have scored just two goals in four games, but have played a tough schedule that included a 1-0 loss to No. 1-2A Eagan in the opener and a 1-1 tie with previously-ranked Eastview.

Abigail Campbell tallied Minnetonka's lone goal against the Lightning, and Izabel Matchan scored the game-winner against Chaska to give the Skippers their first win of the season.
