Wayzata at Edina
8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29
Edina is riding a five-game winning streak heading into its matchup with Wayzata.
The No. 3-2A Hornets (10-1-1, 3-1-1) have a 2-1 loss to No. 2-2A Minnetonka as the lone blemish on an otherwise stellar season. In addition, Edina has shut out its last five opponents while scoring 12 goals.
Wayzata is the only team to hold the Hornets scoreless this season, and the Trojans must find a way to slow down Edina again. The teams played to a 0-0 draw on Sept. 10.
Wayzata (5-2-4, 2-1-1) has shown flashes of offensive potency recently with a 4-0 win over Robbinsdale Armstrong, a 3-0 win over Hopkins and a 3-1 win over Eden Prairie. But the Trojans' strength still resides in their defense. Wayzata has allowed just seven goals this season.
Alex Bracken, Albert Abara, Mehrshad Hairani and Drew Galinson each scored in the victory over Robbinsdale Armstrong.
