East Ridge and Rochester John Marshall reached the Class 2A state tournament last year after meeting in the season opener, which the Raptors won 4-3.

This season the Raptors and Rockets must adjust to life without two of the state's top players who also happened to be their leading scorers.

East Ridge graduated Connor Stevenson, the 2014 Class 2A Mr. Soccer award winner who had 28 goals and 13 assists and helped lead the Raptors to a 21-1 record.

Rochester John Marshall is playing without Ayo Adebayo, who had 19 goals and 17 assists and earned all-state honors during a senior season in which the Rockets went 13-4-2.

Additionally, the Raptors graduated second-leading scorer Samuel Ruiz Plaza (11 goals).

East Ridge brings back seniors Jarrod Ronquillo, who scored nine goals last year, and Ashwin Kolla, who scored four.
