Edina's Matt Lindberg named Mr. Soccer in Class 2A

St. Croix Prep’s Noah Senn named Class 1A Mr. Soccer

Class 2A

Edina senior Matt Lindberg led a Hornets squad that was ranked in the top 10 of the Class 2A coaches' poll all season.

Lindberg had 14 goals and 10 assists for Edina, which went 12-3-3 and earned the top seed in the Section 2 tournament. The Hornets were upset in the semifinals by Chanhassen in a penalty shootout.

Lindberg was first-team all-state selection this year and was named to the second team as a junior.

Lindberg is committed to play Division I soccer at Drake University next year.

Class 1A

St. Croix Prep's Noah Senn was named Class 1A Mr. Soccer after helping the Lions to the Section 4 semifinals, capping a 14-3-1 season. He finished the year with eight goals and five assists.

The senior's play in the midfield was a big reason the Lions won their first Minnesota Christian Athletic Association championship with a 7-0-1 league record.

About the award

The Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) bestows the Mr. and Ms. Soccer Award to the individual who is determined to be the best player in Minnesota. The awards are handed out to both Class 1A and 2A players and are decided by member coaches from the MSHSSCA.
