Girls' soccer Player of the Week unveiled

Who was voted the top performer for Sept. 18-23?

Player of the Week winner

Lauren Sticha, Becker: Sticha, the state leader in assists, had a season-high seven in an 11-0 win over Zimmerman on Sept. 21. Sticha also scored three times and has 17 goals and 27 assists this year.

Player of the Week candidates

Kendra Kelley, Cloquet: The state leader in goals continued adding to her astonishing total last week with seven more in two games. Kelley scored four times in a 7-1 win over Proctor on Sept. 21 and had all three goals in a 3-2 victory over Henry Sibley two days later. She has 27 goals and five assists in 11 games this season.

Lauren Sticha, Becker: Sticha, the state leader in assists, had a season-high seven in an 11-0 win over Zimmerman on Sept. 21. Sticha also scored three times and has 17 goals and 27 assists this year.

Ansley Atkinson, DeLaSalle: Atkinson scored twice and assisted on two goals in a 5-1 victory over St. Cloud Apollo on Sept. 23. Atkinson, who is tied for third in the state with 11 assists, also set up the game-winning goal against St. Croix Lutheran.

Seylon Versalles-Shiggs, St. Paul Highland Park: Versalles-Shiggs posted back-to-back three-goal games last week, helping the Scots record a 4-0 win over St. Paul Washington and a 6-1 victory over Trinity. Versalles-Shiggs has 10 goals on the season.

Corynn Grabau, Andover: Grabau doubled her season goal total last week after scoring five times in two games. Grabau had three goals in an 11-0 win over Spring Lake Park and added two goals against St. Francis in a 7-0 win. Grabau ended the week with an assist in a 4-0 win over Irondale.
