Girls' soccer Player of the Week unveiled

Who was voted as the top performer for Sept. 11-16?

Player of the Week winner

Lily HernandezCristo Rey Jesuit: Eight goals last week brought Hernandez’s season total to 18. She scored three times against Mayer Lutheran and Nova Classical before adding two goals and an assist against the International School.

Player of the Week candidates

Marissa Kalkar, Wayzata: Kalkar scored five goals, including three against Eden Prairie in a 6-0 rout on Sept. 12, and added two assists to help the No. 1-2A Trojans remain undefeated on the season. Kalkar also scored twice against Minnetonka in a 3-0 win on Sept. 14.

Claire Odmark, White Bear Lake: Odmark scored five goals and had two assists in victories over Roseville, Forest Lake and Burnsville. She scored twice in a 4-2 win over the No. 7-2A Blaze.

Kendra Kelley, Cloquet: Kelley scored an incredible 12 goals as the Lumberjacks went 4-0 last week. She posted back-to-back four-goal games at the start the week and had then had three goals in a 5-1 win over Two Harbors on Sept. 14. Two days later, Kelley capped the week with a goal against Duluth Marshall in a 2-1 win. She also had an assist in all four games.

Kayla Anderson, White Bear Lake: Anderson registered seven goals, including five against Forest Lake in an 8-0 win, to raise her season total to 10.
