Girls' soccer Player of the Week revealed

Who was voted as the top performer for Sept. 4-10?

Player of the Week winner

Maya Hansen, Burnsville. Hansen has four goals and three assists in the past two games. She's recorded nine goals and six assists this season for Burnsville, which faces a big tilt with No. 10-2A White Bear Lake on Saturday.

Player of the Week candidates

Meredith Haakenson, Maple Grove. Haakenson scored four goals last week and has six on the season. She's tallied at least one goal in every game for the undefeated Crimson.

Joan Kornkven, Northfield. Kornkven scored four goals and added two assists in an 11-0 rout of Faribault on Sept. 5. In her next game, she scored the opening goal in what would be a 2-0 win over Big 9 Conference contender Owatonna.

Maya Hansen, Burnsville. Hansen has four goals and three assists in the past two games. She's recorded nine goals and six assists this season for Burnsville, which faces a big tilt with No. 10-2A White Bear Lake on Saturday.

Lauren Sticha, Becker. Sticha had herself a four-goal, seven-assist week, which puts the junior at seven goals and 13 assists on the season.

Brenda Vargas, Cristo Rey Jesuit. Vargas scored three goals and assisted on seven others last week, as her team improved to 6-1.
