Varsity soccer players across the state have spent countless hours honing and refining their skills in anticipation of the 2017 season. All that work will be put to the test on Aug. 24 when over 100 teams will compete on opening day.

North St. Paul, ranked No. 7 in Class 2A in the final coaches’ poll last season, will travel to Park Center to take on the No. 4-2A Pirates that day as both teams are expected to remain in top 10 discussion with a wealth of returning depth.

In a rematch of a Class 1A state semifinal, defending champion St. Thomas Academy will host Blake on Sept. 16 after the Cadets’ 1-0 win that led to the program’s first-ever title.

Orono travels to Breck on Oct. 7 for the final day of the regular season in a matchup that revisits the 2015 Class 1A state championship where the Spartans won 2-1 in overtime to claim the school’s first boys' soccer title.
