There was plenty of movement at the top the coaches association's Class 2A boys' soccer rankings, as a new team took over the No. 1 spot and two others made their debut in the top 5.
Edina moved into the top spot following an undefeated week. Victories at Chanhassen (4-1) and Breck (2-0) -- combined with a loss by former No. 1-ranked Anoka -- propelled the Hornets up three spots from their position in the preseason poll.
The Tornadoes dropped to No. 6 after falling to Minneapolis Washburn 4-1 in the season opener.
East Ridge earned the No. 2 spot in the rankings, following by No. 3 Wayzata, No. 4 Washburn and No. 5 Park Center.
Class 1A
There was little movement atop the Class 1A poll with Orono remaining at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Breck, No. 3 St. Thomas Academy and No. 4 Rochester Lourdes. Holy Angels jumped three spots to land at No. 5 this week.
