All eyes are on Eagan this season as it goes after an unprecedented third-straight big-school championship.
It remains to be seen whether the Wildcats will return a roster talented enough to accomplish this feat, but they may get some sense facing Minnetonka in the season opener — which is our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
Eagan graduated 13 seniors, including standout Jade King. The forward, who is playing at Texas Tech, tallied 20 goals and 14 assists while helping lead the Wildcats to a 19-2-1 overall record — a mark that includes a dramatic 1-0 victory over Eden Prairie (won on penalty kicks) to secure the second of their back-to-back Class 2A state titles.
