Here's the girls' soccer All-Metro first team:

GIRLS’ FIRST TEAM

(All are seniors unless noted)

Forwards/midfielders

 

Rachel Boyer, Mounds View: Strong, skilled and capable of taking over games.

 

 

Hannah Cade, Lakeville North: Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year. Class 2A Ms. Soccer recipient. Quarterback of the No. 1 Panthers.

 

Mariah Haberle, Armstrong: Fantastic work rate. Scored 31 goals.

 

Jade King, Eagan: Tenacious player. Scored 15 goals, added 10 assists.

 

Maya Rajacich, Minneapolis Washburn: Returned from two knee surgeries to lead Millers to brink of 2A state tournament.

 

Brianna Lupo, Eden Prairie: Four-year starter. Ms. Soccer finalist.

Aleksa Tataryn, Benilde-St. Margaret’s: Great speed makes her tough to defend. Class 1A Ms. Soccer recipient

 

Maria Turch, St. Agnes: Scored 24 goals and added 18 assists. Carried Aggies to solid 13-4 record.

 

Defenders

 

Julia Anderson, Mounds View: Anchor of Mounds View defense that allowed seven goals in 19 games.

 

Mikayla Iaquinto, Centennial: Great range keeps her in position to thwart the attack.

 

Goalkeeper

 

Katie McMillan, Minnetonka: Athletic with strong hands. Makes routine and spectacular saves. Career 91.6 saves percentage.

David La Vaque
