Eastview and Prior Lake are familiar foes, and the South Suburban Conference rivals are battling with Eagan for league dominance.

The Lightning and the Lakers have resided in the top 10 of the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaching Association's Class 2A poll all year. Eastview and Prior Lake have remained in the top five since the second week of the season and both have spent at least one week as the No. 1-ranked team.

Our Top Game of the Week, however, has more at stake than bragging rights.

Eastview (12-0-2) could be in position to win or share the conference title with a victory over fifth-ranked Prior Lake (10-3-1), but only if the Lightning also defeat Lakeville North on Sept. 30. Eastview could also get some help from Farmington and Apple Valley, who have games with Eagan this week. A Wildcats' loss to either the Tigers or the Eagles keeps the Lightning in contention.

Eastview and Eagan share the top spot in the league standings and the Lightning and Wildcats played to a 1-1 tie Sept. 23.
