Kellie McGahn, a senior attacker, is the top goal scorer for the Class 2A, No. 4-ranked Lightning girls’ team. She will be a member of the University of Minnesota squad in the future. Here is a closer look at McGahn, who also plays right wing on the hockey team in the winter.

The best movie I’ve seen in the last year? “Safe Haven.”

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me: Determined, outgoing, goofy.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … “Yeah” by Usher; “Wake Me Up” by Avicii; “Some Nights” by Fun.

What are your three favorite apps? Twitter, Instagram, Vine.

Who do you like to follow on Twitter the most, and why? [U.S. team member] Alex Morgan because she is my role model.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … really nervous. I was scared I was going to make a lot of mistakes.

What is your favorite pre-game meal? Strawberry-and-banana smoothies.

What are your goals for your senior year? To make it to state in soccer and hockey.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Making it to state two years in a row for soccer, and winning the Gothia Cup this past summer in Sweden with my club team.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Wild because I love Zach Parise.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? “Teams are most successful when everybody knows everybody cares.” — Eastview girls’ soccer coach David Herem.
