Mound-Westonka remains undefeated

• MOUND-WESTONKA 1, ORONO 0: The White Hawks' tandem of seniors Dayton Strong and William Griffith is tough to beat. Strong, who has scored at least one goal in each game this season, netted the lone tally in Mound-Westonka's shutout of the Spartans on Tuesday. Griffith, the White Hawks' goalkeeper, has yet to be scored upon this year. Mound-Westonka (6-0) scored on perfect counter attack with a long ball from senior Connor Murphy to Strong early in the second half.

• LAKEVILLE NORTH 2, PRIOR LAKE 1: Senior Ahmed Essawy scored in the final five minutes, breaking a tie and lifting the Panthers over the Lakers in the South Suburban.

GIRLS' SOCCER

• COON RAPIDS 4, ANDOVER 3: Senior forward Courtney Rowan saved the Cardinals from a devastating loss, stealing the ball at midfield and drilling a 25-yard, game-winning shot with 11 minutes left to beat the Huskies in the Northwest Suburban. Coon Rapids had led 3-0 before Andover tied it.

• ELK RIVER 3, ANOKA 1: Sophomore Logan Daulton figured in all three goals (two goals, one assist) as the Elks topped the Tornadoes in the Northwest Suburban.

• ROSEMOUNT 1, APPLE VALLEY 0: Junior attacker Hannah Halterman headed in a corner kick at the 14-minute mark of the second half, giving the Irish a South Suburban victory over the Eagles.
