Last season was a mixed bag of success and struggles for the Brainerd Warriors.

The season ended with a 7-8-2 overall mark, but Brainerd earned its first No. 1 seed in the Section 8-2A playoffs. It was also head coach Tony Smith’s first season and despite a 4-1-1 start he felt it took a while for his players to get accustomed to his coaching style.

Entering his second season, Smith senses a real togetherness among his players and an understanding of what he’s trying to coach.
