White Bear Lake at East Ridge
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21

White Bear Lake pulled off an impressive 4-2 victory over No. 7-2A Burnsville on Sept. 16, and it will try to continue that solid play in a showdown of Suburban East Conference title contenders when facing East Ridge on Thursday.

The stakes are heightened in the matchup as the chase for the league title heats up. The Bears seek their first conference crown in five years while the Raptors are vying for their first title, and both are among four undefeated teams in league play.

Claire Odmark, a second team all-state selection, leads No. 9-2A White Bear Lake (6-2, 3-0) with 11 goals this season, while Kayla Anderson has 10 goals, including five against Forest Lake. The pair accounted for three goals in the victory over Burnsville, with Odmark notching two goals.

East Ridge (6-3, 2-0) has won five consecutive games after a 2-2 start that included a 1-0 loss to No. 5-2A Eagan and a 4-0 loss to Rosemount. The Raptors recently beat No. 2-2A Minneapolis Washburn 1-0 but followed it with a 1-0 loss to St. Peter on Sept. 16.

The Raptors also face undefeated Mounds View on Sept. 19 and No. 10-2A Stillwater, which is undefeated in conference play, on Sept. 23.
